12月21日 POINT OF VIEWOne day , the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live . They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family . On their return from their trip , the father asked his son , " How was the trip ?" " It was great , Dad . " " Did you see how poor people live ? " the father asked . " Oh yeah , " said the son ! " So , tell me , what did you learn from the trip ? " asked the father .
The son answered : " I saw that we have one dog and they had four . We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end . We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon . We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight . We have servants who serve us , but they serve others . We buy our food , but they grow theirs . We have walls around our property to protect us , they have friends to protect them ." The boy's father was speechless . Then his son added , " Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are ! ! " (author unknown) Isn't perspective a wonderful thing ? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have , instead of worrying about what we don't have . 12月18日 Dylan's wish to SantaLast night we lost Bonnie and Clyde. They are our 1 yr. old chocolate labs. They will go to our neighbors house (about 1/4 mile away) for an hour or 2, but last night they never came back. We went on our 4-wheeler to all of the neighbors houses, searched for tracks in the woods, but nothing. I thought all was lost and Scott and I were preparing Dylan for the possibility of Bonnie and Clyde never comming back. This morning we went to visit Santa... Dylan runs up to this poor old man, jumps on his lap and says loudly "I want a John Deer Tractor". Santa replied, "How about a ___ tractor or a ___ tractor". Dylan says "No Santa, only a John Deer one" in that scolding "how dare you question me" voice. Then santa asked if there was anything else he wanted. Softly Dylan wispered "Bonnie and Clyde". Santa looked at me in wonderment, I mouthed the word "dogs" and pointed at Dylan. Dylan continued... they left last night and never came home. I want them back. Santa, without a blink of an eye replied, "You know, sometimes puppies will leave and come back much later, other times they may never come home... either way everything will be okay". When we got home, I called the animal control office... to my luck someone found them and an officer was going to be at our house any minute with them. I rushed to Dylan and told him that someone found Bonnie and Clyde, and that they would be here soon. He CALMLY replies, "I knew Santa would find them". 12月13日 Saint Theresa's PrayerSaint Theresa's prayer: May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us. 12月11日 REALITYWhat is reality? It is how each of us perceive what is presented to us. Reality is different for each individual. Did you realize that we were capable of loving who we choose, being happy, or just being? Have you ever wondered why your friend thought that their significant other was absolutly georgous, and you thought they were grotesk? It is all what we choose to see. Maybe I live in a fantisy world to some people... but I love MY reality. |
